new fraud alert

Be aware that your posts on facebook twitter etc can be used as a target against you. I am having an issue with UPS and Paypal. While Paypal issue is resolved I got a phone call from "Paypal" asking me to check that my activity was fixed and to move a certain amount to a provided email.
Paypal doesn't do that so be tell them you have a customer and get a call back number. never allow them to tell you to send money or change a password or email. It did sound very official but be alarmed if you get a call.
this is a new scam when I called paypal about this they verified the number 402-935-7733 is theirs but it only for incoming calls.
hope this helps

Sounds like phishing scams. Scamming criminals can get quite ruthless and clever. Always best to ignore them. We no longer answer the phone; all calls go to voice mail. With a business, the risk must be so much higher as your exposure is greater with social media etc.

We let every call go to the answering machine here at home except when we recognize the number. 90% of the callers don't leave a message. The other day we got a call from "Microsoft" from ME! It was my name and number that showed up on the phone. They did leave their ominous message though..... Usually those type of calls are from "Apple" and we don't have or use any of their products.

I don't answer my phone unless I know the caller; I let it go to voicemail. Having said that, it sounds like the phishing and other scams are hitting at a whole new level. I've always gotten emails.

Thanks for the warning John.
