Can a 70-year-old man learn the fiddle? Left-handed?

A few years ago, I built a violin from a Stew-Mac kit, tried to play it, and found that some arthritis in my left wrist made playing it impossible. So I took it apart and re-built it as a left-handed violin, and just this winter I started to learn to play it. The whole adventure is here:

I thought it might amuse you and even encourage somebody else to try building and playing the instrument. As luthiers, you have god-like powers already, but until you've tried to set a sound post, you haven't really lived.

Very interesting story, John. Thanks for posting! I shudder at the thought of trying to learn the fiddle.
