I've mentioned that I did "machine shop stuff" before I started building instruments. The other day I finally got back to working on a model steam engine I started about ten years ago. It still needs some detailing, but it runs pretty well. Here is a short video of it running on compressed air.

just lovely that sound is like music you can make a metronome out of it LOL.

From one machinist to another . Fine work indeed.

Very cool, now put some wheels on it and a long long tube and some RC controls, and then go outside and play with it.
Joking aside, that is impressive. What a fun thing to build.

I LOVE miniature steam engines. My Dad had one, we ran it about once a year, don't know what happened to it. It was 55 years ago when I saw it last. I didn't get the video to play, but I will give you accolades in advance. Building an engine of any kind is an impressive and meticulous feat! Now I go try to play it again.
