Photography

Post by Diane Kauffmds »

Since danl8 took so many photos of the open house on Dover, I was reminded of my own photography. The most photos that I've taken in one session, is over 4000, to catch lightning. When i have the camera in continuous mode, they add up quickly.

I also photograph nature in motion. Here are some of my favorites photos.

Love the bee pix. Last summer I chased a hummimgbird moth around the yard tying to get a picture -- I was trying to figure out if it was a miniature bird or a bug. Nice lightening shots!

Thanks Dan. I set up and focus on flowers that are active. For these photos, I used a Canon HS40sx, a PowerShot which is a point and shoot camera. I used a super macros lens, and I focused in a narrow area. With the camera on manual so I could control as many aspects as possible, I put the thing into continuous and start shooting.

I saw the moth, who seemed to be interested in this area of a butterfly bush. I just kept snapping until he came back. I actually got two shots of him. The one you see in the prior post, was how he looked with the sun through his wings. This shot was lower, so you can see the bumble bee mimicry. I like these photos, because the hummingbird moth is hard to catch. I was lucky that day.
