Cigars

Still the reigning king - for me - is the Hoyo Dark Sumatra, toro, about 6x54.
I tried something different Sunday - the 94 rated Oliva Series V. It was ok, for $6, but in no way wort a 94 rating.
Have you tried anything new and great recently?

Great to see this thread reborn.
I'm heading to Key West in a few weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions for a "local" cigar to try down there? Paying good money for a bad cigar is a drag (pun intended!).

That was an excellent pun. I don't know from Key West cigars, but a friend of mine found a shop that rolled 'em right in front of you using local tobaccos, might be worth looking into.
Swisher sweets? Gads.

Thanks, Dave. I'll be checking the local shops for sure. And I can't comment on the Swisher's as I'm looking at a pack of Backwoods on my desk right now!

my grandfather smoked the swishers and he would let me smoke them to help keep bugs away. I have many fond memories of him and this topic reminded me of them. thanks I may have to buy a pack.

So that's why everyone smokes up here in Wisconsin!

Today I smoked an old favorite - CAO MX2 - which has a double hit of maduro - pleasant aroma, smooth burn, easy draw. I'll do it again sometime.

Ken Hundley - there is no vendor for the Patel line of cigars here in southern Oregon. If I get up north I will try to track down the 10 year old Patel you've mentioned.
