John Hall has been gracious to offer delivery of any RC Tonewoods orders to the Blues Creek open house this year. Please have your order in by May 27th and pick "in store pickup" at checkout. when you prep a rim , there is an angle we create to allow the fretboard plane off the neck match the body so that the string height at the point of the saddle / bridge area is correct.
If you don't do this right the string height would be too hi or low. Also the fret board would not be true and there would be a dip or worse a rise.

think of it this way , the fret board and neck are what makes the guitar playable , and it is a detail that needs to be addressed. This is what I refer to setting the geometry ,
