This is my build #1 so far. A long way to go still but it is starting to look like a guitar at long last!

It's looking nice, Paul. I'm pretty limited in exposure to different guitars, but that seems a nice, unique heel on it.
Good job. I know you're itching to hear it already. lol

Wow Paul, you are doing a great job. Looks like your hand bending went well.
Personally I like the look of a non-traditional neck heel shape, so good for you for doing one different. How'd you like making the neck? Pretty neat huh?

Hi Kev ... yeah I love the tweaking and graceful curving although to be honest I found it a lot easier than I though I would. I seem to have a pretty good eye for knowing when things are straight so it was easy to rough and then sand.

Got the bug though ... I am looking at material for #2 now and that will be even better now that I have spent my first learning the hard way.

Paul, I didn't realize you were so far along. You almost have a guitar! I have Willis' book as well. I can't imagine building a guitar that way though.

Good show!

Hi Ken ... it is nearly there. I have the bridge to make then it is really about finishing and setting up.

Willis was a book I saw in a shop and thought ... hmm now that might be a good project. I bought it and read it several times so i only knew that way. Now I have a couple of others Jonny Kinkead, who incidently has his shop about 2 miles away from me, and Compiano's. I would love to get Somogyi's but a little pricey at the moment.

Dont think I will follow Willis on the next and I am hoping that by the time I get to #4 or #5 I can used all the skills of the others to formulate my own stye of building. After all, one thing I have learnt so far is that there is not a single correct method.

Looking forward to getting the finish on it .. think that will really bring it alive.
