Signing the Soundboard

Is there a standard location that the builder typically signs the soundboard before glueing to the rim? I'm off work today and will glue my top but I'm not sure where to sign it. I've seen a pic of a signature posted by Bill but I can't find it right now.

I don't know if there is any "standard" - I've always tucked it in the upper bout.

Remember that where ever you do it, it will appear bass-ackwards in a mirror when you try to read it.

I didn't know any better, so I signed mine on the bridge plate. Probably put holes all thru it for the strings.

Sorry that I posted this in the wrong forum! Oh well.

Thanks for the response. I ended up signing it in the same place that Bill signed his in his book. I dedicated it to my 3 daughters......who I hope learn to play on this guitar.

I just finished putting all the go-bars in place so the top is glued in place!!!

Sign it wherever you like! It's your guitar, do it the way YOU want to.

agree with Ken! Amen to that!

I let my son (he was 6 at the time) draw a picture on the underside of my first.

I forgot to sign my second before I glued the top on. So maybe I'll put something, like a 'jagermeister' sticker under there, instead?
