Hello first post, I have martin reject fret boards maybe 15 nice ones I am building twins right now a 0028,om the slots have .020 I bought .0195 and .0205 from 1833 shop but they mic. out to about the same as stewmac med, med. I called the 1833 shop at first the guy did'nt know martin boards were .020, then he came back and said I was right , he said they would work he thinks, people are buying them. The thing is they still look like there for .023 fret slots when I mic. them its not easy, they are almost like stewmac's for the .023 slots. I was sawing very carefull wider to use the stewmac's, anyway would someone know what size tang martin is putting in there .020 ebony fret slots the 1833 shop sells from .0185-.0245 the larger ones for refretting, seems like everything I see is for kits or boards with a .023 slot. thanks, Dave

Hello, its me again I was'nt very clear I'm asking about the fret wire. I know I could use a fret barber to make the barbs fit, in any slot but I'm not buying one. I was hoping the .0195 fret wire would be perfect, the tang a little smaller than the slot. I'm not sure there talking about tang size when they list .0185.......0245 , but they must be. The boards are not rejects because of fret slot being .020 wide, martin uses that and others. Would say a offical martin repair tec. say ya dave use the .0185 wire it should work in a new board don't panic. I wonder what sponsor would Know about stuff like this? joking. thanks, Dave
