Hi all. I am a knifemaker and hope to be guitar builder. I've been making fixed blade hunting/fishing knives for about 18 years. My knives have sold to people around the USA and Europe. These days I stick to 3 or 4 patterns, but can do custom requests for steel and handle materials if desired. I prefer to make up a knife and then offer it for sale. I am planning to purchase my first guitar kit, and am in the process of accumulating all those tools I'm going to need. Some I already have, but I would be very interested in trading my knives for tools at retail for retail value. If you are interested in knives for collecting, or you are a hunter or go fishing, then perhaps we can deal. I have sold many of my knives on Ebay, and you can look at feedback there under my user name kevinsjo. I usually have a knife or two auction there, and will have a couple up in about a week. If your tools are used (which is fine) then my retail price for your reasonable value would be the acceptable trade. I sell my knives in the $170 to $200 range so they are very reasonable. Right now I don't have pictures uploaded to bring in here, but if you have an interest, please let me know what you have for trade, and if it's something I need or want, I'll gladly send you some pictures of my knives via email. In the mean time, I'll figure out how to post a couple of pics here. Thanks.

Alright, I see they are WAY too big. Bill, if you want to take them off because they take up too much room, I'll understand. I can downsize them and then re-post.

I don't have any tools to trade, but I'm thinking that if your knives look THAT good then your guitar is going to be pretty impressive, too. Very nice work!

Beautiful knives. Do you make all the parts for them? Impressive one way or the other.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the complement. I start from scratch. Grind from bar stock, mill the guards, heat treat and polish. Make the sheaths too.
I hope kit guitar making becomes as satisfying as the knifemaking has been.

As I said, beautiful work on the knives. If you can play guitar at all, I think you will be more than surprised and pleased at what you will build. I have been disappointed in the visual aspects of some I have built and floored by the sound coming out of them. In many respects, I am fine with that. Good luck.
