San Diego, CA for the last 5 years,

Crowduck, I lived in Santa Cruz for a few years. I love it there. Unfortunately, so do too many other people. The rent there was CRAZY!

If any of you are ever in Southern, CA... drop in and let's talk shop!

I was a wedding and commercial photographer in SLO there from 1981 to 1991. We had kids and wanted to buy a house, so came to Colorado where we could afford one!

I still publish a wedding magazine ("Wedding & Party") there, which you can pick up free in the Chamber office on Chorro St by the Mission.

I was landscaping my front yard today and boy was it hot.
The Santa Ana winds were blowing slightly and I look on my porch and there is a delivery of 4 tops and some Sitka bracewood. I scooped it up quick and got it into the house. I'm almost afraid to look at it. Lol!

Hi, friends, may I join? Beppe, from Cagliari, Sardegna, Italy, twelve hours from New York...
John Hall, please, have you any idea about shipping cost for a 0-12 guitar mold to Italy?

Beppe, YES! Everyone can join, especially you, and welcome!

Me? I'm from Bothell WA, USA. Northern suburbs of Seattle. Not too far from Charles Kuo!

Been here most of my life, short of a 20 year road trip through a bunch of US Air Force bases in all parts of the world.

Someone needs to put one of those google map thingees together so we can all put pushpins in it! That would be fun!

HE HE, Bill! Actually haven't had caffiene in about 10 years, regardless of how little sleep I get/need. If I had a Coke, I'd be up for a week!

I think I've had so much caffeine thru the years that I now have an adverse reaction to it: Every time I have a cup of coffee, I fall asleep 10 minutes later!

I guess the joke's on me.

Yeah bill, I guess "Snowbird" pretty well covers it...it's getting to the point where we'll have to give up the Arizona run pretty soon...we lived in this desert for 43 years..but time changes everything! The wife has Diabetes and the heat isn't working.
We have hunted in western Co for over 40 years..the Daughter was telling me about the range close there somewhere..hope to get to use it one day..
Thans for the reply!

I'm a retired social work bureaucrat making extra money as a banjo maker ( see me on the Banjo Hangout) so I can afford a better brand of cat food in my retired poverty. I'm building a John Hall parlor guitar kit for my personal guitar. My wife hates banjos and wants me to go back to guitar playing.

That's how you retired "Upper crust" are...eatin' off the "Top shelf"...the rest of us retiree's gotta settle for "Kibbles and Bits"...and I supose with the "Cat food" you don't have to contend with LAYIN' AROUND on the porch and chasing cars EITHER! Dang it! hahaha..GOOD fishin' up your way!

I don't get the urge to chase cars, but I do go out to my driveway at night and snuggle up next to my warm engine. It gets chilly here at night.

hi you all, I am from Westbury-on-Trym Bristol UK. My first post, enjoying the info given in the forum. I enjoy making guitars for my grandchildren, at some point will put one on Ebay ( guitar that is). Made my first guitar in 1984, out of old bits of furniture. At that time I was living about 15 miles from Semly near Shaftsbury. The home of the Master Guitar maker Jose Romanillos. I had the pleasure of visiting him in his workshop for about 40 minutes, a great experience. I took along my first guitar, I was so proud of my work, he took it in his hands and seemed to balance it judging the weight. I will never forget his assessment of my work, "It's like a battleship but I like the finsh". I finally got that guitar back after 20 years, looking at it now I have to agree with the great man. Hope in the future i have some other more helpful topic to post. Regards to you all.

Hi there y'all I am from Eldon Missouri. 12 miles from the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. I was raised in the sticks and love it. Us Hillbillies make our own everything,so I thought why not a guitar. I wanted to build something better than a Martin that I could hand down to my daughter when I am called home. At 48 years old I figured I better get with it. Life is short,it should be filled with the best of the best. Keith

Home of the Shakespeare Festival, Mt. Ashland ski area, an hour from the Coast and 45 minutes to pine-tree surrounded mountain lakes. And the "Holy Water" - a stretch of the Rogue River that is fly fishing only and really productive. Not for me, but the guys fishing next to me. :-(

Searcy is 50 miles north of Little Rock. I've spent a little time in Nacogdoches. Worked for Regions Bank for 20 years. Texas was in my region. I work for a small bank holding company in north Arkansas now. Less stress and more time to make things in the garage.

Got into this cause my college build violins. He and his friends gather once a week and they build impressing instuments from scratch.
Id like to build my own guitar(s) in the same way......but after recommendations i decided that a kit would be the best start.
