First scratch build complete!

Well I finally got around to polishing up and photographing my 3rd build, but first full scratch build. I figure since I used the kit wizard to order the parts it still qualifies to be posted here lol! Anyways, here are the spec's:

EIR back and sides
Adirondack spruce top
Granadillo Fingerboard
Spanish Cedar neck
Bloodwood bindings
Rosewood pehgead and bridge
Koa rosette
Inlays are Paua Abalone
Colortone waterbased finish
Plans were the stewmac 000 12 fret, 25.4"

This was my first attempt at a lot of different things, carving a neck, making a bridge, compensating a saddle, bending sides, making and slotting a fingerboard, and joining/thicknessing plates. This was also my first slot head. It was a lot of fun and I am already well into build #4. On to the pictures: (sorry dialup users, lots of photos ahead!)

Man, David, that is nice. Excellent work. Since this is the first scratch, give us details on what was more difficult or easier than you expected, etc. Really nice looking guitar!

David, I am (again) jealous of your work rate and skills. I love that soundboard, the imperfections in the grain make it look like.... well, wood.

Nice work. Is the next guitar to be scratch built? I know number four is already underway, at least in the planning stages :)

Very, very nice! Congrats on taking the "scratch built" plunge as well. I'm hoping to get there myself in the not too distant future.

I love it! Just a beautiful guitar! That look would be perfect for a classical as well. Excellent job.

Beautiful guitar and really nice fit and finish. I really like the headstock detail, very original to my eye and also quite pleasing! Congrats!
